The victim was described as a Panamanian man of retirement age who was a long time local resident of Boquete Township. Although this type of accident is a rare occurrence it serves as a reminder to all of us that driving in while in Panama is without question the most hazardous activity you can perform.

It is recommended drivers who are among the Expatriate Community drive with their vehicle lights on at all times and exercise extreme caution while on the roads especially in construction zones. Another recommendation is to re frame from passing buses that are partially stopped on the side of the road unless the road way is completely clear of oncoming traffic and also be mindful of pedestrians especially children who may be crossing the road after having just exited the bus.
