Description

On early Wednesday morning November 2, in the Los Centauros Urbanization in La Concepcion, an attempted burglary and break-in occurred about 2 AM. The intended victim is an Ex-Pat who was sleeping at the time and awakened by his spouse who heard their dog, who was inside the home, barking furiously amid the sound of glass breaking.

The dog was poisoned thereafter and barked only briefly after ingesting toxic chicken skin and went into convulsions and died almost immediately. The animal was tossed food after the glass panes, found frequently here in back and side windows here in Panama, were removed to gain entrance for the intruders in a ground floor room at the back of the two-story house.

The Ex-Pat went downstairs and apparently frightened away the attempted intruders.

The police were called but did not respond immediately. The Ex-Pat then called the David Police who called the La Concepcion police again and this time they came out after a few minutes.

The Police were sympathetic but did not check the grounds or recover any evidence nor did they canvass the area later that day as to develop any leads in determining the modus operandi of, description of, witnesses to,
the suspects attempting to rob the premises.

The Ex-Pat still felt in danger due to other
suspicious activity the next night and eventually hired a security person to watch and patrol his grounds.
